The history of the emergence of Bryce Canyon National Park is very interesting. Nearly 60 million years ago, most of what is now Utah was covered in water. Later, when the water element lost ground and retreated, a ridge of rocks began to form from the layer of sediments accumulated at the bottom, of which Bryce Canyon is a part.
