The fortress city of Uçhisar in Cappadocia, Turkey) is located a short distance from Goreme. the distance between cities is only 4 kilometers. The area around Uçhisar is replete with abandoned houses and dovecotes . Famous for its dovecotes, the Pigeon Valley, for example, stretches between Uçhisar and Goreme.
