Bandhavgarh National Park is a world famous tiger reserve, where a white tiger was seen for the first time in India. The park is located on the Vindhya mountain range. Bandhavgarh Fortress is another local attraction. According to legend, the god Rama presented this fortress to his younger brother Lakshmana. In the local dialect, the word “bandhav” means “brother”, and “gar” means “fortress”, hence the name of the fortress was born or vice versa.
